Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran has condemned an incident in which students of a government panchayat middle school in the JJ Nagar area near Kanchipuram were allegedly taken, in school uniform, to Chief Minister Vijay’s birthday celebrations.
In a statement, he questioned how party functionaries of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) had the “audacity” to bring schoolchildren to a political event. He alleged that the children were made to tie TVK flags, sing birthday greetings inside the government school premises, and raise slogans such as “Long live Vijay.”
Nagendran said children were being treated like “servants” and asked who had authorised such actions. He also alleged that children were used unlawfully as “pawns” during elections and claimed the same pattern was continuing now.
The BJP leader demanded that Chief Minister Vijay take immediate action against those who took the students to the birthday event, and insisted that such acts should not be repeated.
