AIADMK has announced that a consultation meeting of its women’s wing will be held on July 1 at the party’s headquarters in Royapettah, Chennai. The meeting will be chaired by party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.
According to the party statement, the discussion will focus on the women’s wing’s activities and the role of women in the party’s organisational growth and development work.
The party has asked all women office-bearers to attend, including state and district functionaries of the women’s wing, women office-bearers in district units, and women general council members.
Party sources said this would be the first separate meeting convened specifically for women functionaries after the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. They added that changes in the women’s wing could follow depending on the deliberations.
