The Tamil Nadu government has appointed K Venkata Narayana as its Special Representative in Delhi, according to the report.

States typically post a Special Representative in the national capital to take up their requests with the Union government. The position is considered equivalent in status to a minister.

The Special Representative’s key responsibilities include formally pursuing the state’s financial allocations and development schemes from the Centre, and consistently advocating Tamil Nadu’s demands.

K Venkata Narayana is described as a leading film producer and the founder of KVN Productions. He has produced and distributed films across Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi, and is also known as the producer of the film Jananayagan, starring Chief Minister Vijay.

The report also notes that he has worked for more than 20 years with the Prestige Group, a major real estate company in India.
