VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan on Saturday reiterated that it is not the responsibility of leaders like him to preserve the DMK-led alliance after elections. Speaking to reporters at Tiruchirappalli airport, he said he does not have the strength to “save” the alliance and that the DMK should respond on the matter.
He also praised Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s approach of promptly considering demands raised by alliance partners and taking action. Thirumavalavan said such responsiveness deserves appreciation.
On the government’s “white paper”, he said the practice is meant to inform the public about the financial position during the previous administration. He welcomed the move, saying it reflects transparency and democratic accountability.
Referring to a clarification by Minister Nirmal Kumar regarding a Delhi representative, Thirumavalavan said it was an internal party matter, while noting that the authority for such appointments rests with the Chief Minister and that no adverse impact is expected. He declined to comment on Vaiko’s claim that CM Vijay had asked MDMK MLAs to resign.
The interaction was streamed live on Dinamalar’s website and social media platforms.
