Power Minister Nirmal Kumar of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Saturday claimed that several DMK MLAs are unhappy and that potential resignations should not come as a surprise.
Speaking to reporters in Melur near Madurai, he said the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has registered a case and is conducting an inquiry after it obtained evidence related to alleged corruption involving former DMK minister E.V. Velu.
Nirmal Kumar further alleged that the DMK and the AIADMK are attempting to come together to form a government, and said this was the reason behind party functionaries leaving their respective parties.
He also asserted that there would be no compromise in matters related to alleged looting of natural resources. On granite-related cases, he said the government would extend full cooperation and take steps to expedite the proceedings.
