New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India’s security capabilities are strengthening “from sea to sky” as the country advances on the path of self-reliance.

Speaking in the 135th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Modi listed key achievements from the past six months, with a focus on indigenous defence and technology milestones.

He said the C-295 military transport aircraft has been manufactured in India and has completed its first flight successfully. He also noted that 40 such aircraft are being produced in Vadodara, Gujarat, which he said would benefit MSMEs, support the aviation ecosystem and create more jobs.

Modi further referred to a recent event in Kolkata, West Bengal, where INS Dunagiri, INS Shanshodhak and INS Agre were inducted into the Indian Navy, stating that the vessels were designed and built domestically. He also said DRDO successfully conducted a test of the indigenous long-range land-attack cruise missile (LRLACM), developed with industry partners.

In the same address, the Prime Minister welcomed the Central Sanskrit University in Delhi launching B.Tech courses in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, calling it a milestone in blending traditional knowledge with modern technology. He also spoke about Indian cultural influence abroad, citing a group in the Dominican Republic learning Vedic recitations such as Sri Rudram and Sri Suktam using audio recordings.
