Victoria: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Navashakti Vinayagar Temple in Seychelles, a shrine built by the Tamil community.

Modi is on a three-day visit to the island nation and took part in Seychelles’ 50th Independence Day celebrations.

After the official event, he went to the temple in Victoria, where he was received with traditional honours.

Inside the temple, the Prime Minister offered prayers to all the deities installed there.

He later met members of the Indian-origin community who had gathered outside the temple.
