DMK president M.K. Stalin on Sunday accused the state government of intimidating opposition parties that criticise it, and of avoiding answers to questions raised by the media.
In a statement, Stalin said DMK workers were arrested after staging a protest against a minister over a social media post that he alleged appeared to glorify drug use. He also claimed a case was filed against former minister Sivasankar for criticising the “Thaveka” government.
Stalin further pointed to a raid at the residence of former minister E.V. Velu, describing it as part of a pattern aimed at silencing critics while protecting what he called a “manufactured” public image of the Chief Minister.
He said such an approach would not last long and that those who “play with power” would eventually be humbled. Referring to what he termed a “reels government” that keeps running on “take diversion,” Stalin said people would teach it a lesson.
