The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast that rainfall will continue across Tamil Nadu for the next one week as the southwest monsoon strengthens over the state.
In its latest update, the weather office said an atmospheric circulation is prevailing over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh region.
The system is expected to influence weather conditions, supporting widespread rain activity in parts of Tamil Nadu during the period.
The advisory was issued as heavy rain was reported in several areas, with the department continuing to monitor developments and provide updates.
