New Delhi: The long-awaited India–United States bilateral trade agreement is nearing completion, according to US envoy to India Sergio Gor.

Speaking about the progress, Gor said the pact is intended to be beneficial for both sides and that most of the agreement has already been completed. He added that negotiators are working at full pace to finalise the remaining portions.

Gor also said President Donald Trump is committed to building a partnership that serves both countries, and described India as holding a special place in the US President’s priorities. He said he looks forward to Trump visiting India again.

Highlighting broader cooperation, the envoy pointed to opportunities for the two countries to work together across areas such as artificial intelligence, defence and aviation. He said the aim is to bring both sides closer and create a “win-win” outcome.

Gor further noted that India continues to export significant volumes of goods to the United States and said confidence among American companies in India has reached a historic high, with firms viewing India as a reliable partner for investment and long-term collaboration.
