SpiceJet has fully suspended its flight operations from Tamil Nadu, stopping both domestic and international services that were earlier run from the state.

The airline had operated daily flights from Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore to several Indian cities, including regular services to Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. Over time, services from Madurai and Coimbatore were gradually reduced and eventually discontinued.

In recent months, only a single daily flight from Chennai to Shivamogga in Karnataka was being operated. That service has now also been withdrawn, leaving SpiceJet with no flights from any Tamil Nadu airport.

A Dubai service from Madurai had already been stopped about four months ago. Aviation experts said the airline had maintained only limited connectivity from Tamil Nadu and did not show interest in expanding routes despite passenger demand.

They added that the direct Madurai–Dubai flight was suspended from February 28 due to war-related tensions. While other airlines have resumed operations as conditions improved, SpiceJet has not restarted its services, they said.
