Hindu Munnani members undertook a girivalam (circumambulation) around Thiruparankundram hill on the occasion of Pournami, pressing for a lamp to be lit on the hilltop.
The procession was attended by the organisation’s state president, Kadeshwara Subramaniam, according to the video report.
Many women also joined the walk, carrying vel (spears) in their hands and bearing paal kudam (milk pots) as part of the religious observance.
The event was held amid calls from participants to ensure the lighting of the deepam at Thiruparankundram hill.
