DMK treasurer and MP TR Baalu has withdrawn a defamation case he had filed against Annamalai at the Saidapet court in Chennai.
The case stemmed from events in 2023, when Annamalai, while in the Tamil Nadu BJP, released asset details of several individuals under the title “DMK Files”. Following the release, Annamalai made various remarks to reporters about TR Baalu’s asset particulars.
Citing those comments, TR Baalu approached the Saidapet court with a defamation complaint. During the proceedings, Annamalai appeared before the court and conducted a cross-examination of TR Baalu.
Annamalai had indicated that he would again cross-examine Baalu at the next hearing. In this backdrop, Baalu has now withdrawn the case.
