Former AIADMK ministers C Vijayabaskar and MR Vijayabaskar are set to join Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) along with their supporters on July 2, according to reports.
C Vijayabaskar, who served as Health Minister during the AIADMK government, had won again from the Viralimalai constituency. He recently resigned from his MLA post.
MR Vijayabaskar, who served as Transport Minister in the AIADMK government, had won again from the Karur constituency. He resigned from his MLA post a day earlier.
The report said the two leaders decided to switch parties due to dissatisfaction with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS). Their induction is scheduled at a function at the Four Points hotel in Mahabalipuram on Thursday.
The event is expected to be attended by Anand, Aadhav, Sengottaiyan, Nirmal Kumar and others, with the report claiming that arrangements are being made to bring supporters to Mahabalipuram in 500 cars and 200 buses. After joining TVK at the venue, the two leaders are also expected to meet Chief Minister Vijay at his residence.
