India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections for June stood at Rs 1.95 lakh crore, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday. The figure marks a 13.9% increase compared to the same month last year.

According to the ministry’s statement, GST from domestic transactions rose 6.5% to Rs 1.35 lakh crore. Revenue from imports climbed 34.6% to Rs 60,038 crore.

Among major states, Uttar Pradesh reported a 19% rise to Rs 9,176 crore, while Maharashtra saw a 9% increase to Rs 30,714 crore. Collections also increased in Assam (17%), Punjab (14%), Gujarat (12%), Karnataka (10%) and Delhi (8%).

However, GST collections fell in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh by 5% each, and in Tamil Nadu by 2%. The steepest drop was reported in Jharkhand, where collections declined 16%.

For the April–June quarter of FY2027, total GST collections were Rs 6.32 lakh crore, up 7.1% year-on-year, the ministry added.
