Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke by phone with Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian and stressed the need for peace and stability in West Asia, according to the report.

During the call, President Pezeshkian briefed Modi on recent developments and progress related to the West Asia situation.

Modi welcomed the reported progress and reiterated India’s position that disputes should be addressed through peaceful and diplomatic means, with solutions reached through dialogue.

He also underlined the importance of sustained efforts to ensure stability in the region and called for uninterrupted trade and freedom of navigation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz.
