Annamalai has announced that the first conference of his ‘We The Leaders’ movement will be held in Pollachi on July 12.

Speaking at an event in Tiruppur, he said he chose Pollachi soil for the movement’s inaugural conference. He also expressed gratitude to supporters, saying he has not been able to meet everyone individually and that their affection moved him.

Annamalai, who had served as a leader and vice-president in the BJP in recent years, recently quit the party. He had said he would continue public service through ‘We The Leaders’ and called on the public and youth to support the initiative.

According to the report, around 19 lakh people have joined the movement so far, and its political activities are set to begin from July. The conference will be held at the Kongu City ground in Achipatti, Pollachi, where a ground-breaking ceremony was conducted on July 2 with supporters in attendance.

Organisers said they expect about 50,000 people to participate on July 12 and that arrangements will be made accordingly. The announcement and the ground-breaking ceremony were livestreamed on Dinamalar’s website and social media platforms.
