Seattle witnessed a dramatic FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash as Belgium fought back from the brink to defeat Senegal 3-2 and move into the Round of 16.
Senegal started aggressively and took control early. Habib Diarra struck in the 24th minute, and Ismaila Sarr doubled the lead in the 51st, putting Senegal 2-0 up and within touching distance of victory.
Belgium’s comeback began late when substitute Romelu Lukaku pulled one back in the 86th minute. Just three minutes later, Youri Tielemans produced a stunning finish to make it 2-2, forcing the match into extra time.
In a decisive twist, Belgium were awarded a penalty in the final moments of extra time (120+5) following a VAR review. Tielemans converted to complete the turnaround and secure a historic 3-2 win, while Senegal were eliminated from the tournament.
