The Election Commission on Thursday announced by-elections for three vacant Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar, setting polling for July 30.
The seats notified are Datia in Madhya Pradesh, Manjalpur in Gujarat and Bankipur in Bihar, which had been declared vacant.
The Commission said counting of votes will be held on August 3.
In Tamil Nadu, seven Assembly constituencies—Tiruchy East, Madurantakam, Dharapuram, Ambasamudram, Perundurai, Viralimalai and Karur—are currently vacant. However, the Election Commission has not issued any bypoll notification for these seats.
The report noted that the Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretariat has conveyed details regarding the vacancies to the Election Commission.
