Chennai: Digital creators who produce slide presentations and video compilations are seeing a sudden rise in demand, as the Tamil Nadu government prepares for a series of review meetings chaired by Chief Minister Vijay.
With the state’s general budget and agriculture budget expected to be presented soon, departments are also gearing up for the subsequent grant demands to be taken up in the Assembly. As several ministers in the current administration, including the Chief Minister, are new, they are seeking detailed briefings on administration, departmental functioning and scheme implementation.
Unlike earlier practices where officials largely submitted written reports and occasional online briefings, the Chief Minister and ministers are said to prefer accessing departmental information through mobile phones, tablets and computers.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to hold department-wise review meetings up to July 22, with sessions planned twice a day—morning and evening. Through the Chief Secretary, all department secretaries have been instructed to present key information in the form of slide shows and video clips.
Each department has been asked to prepare at least 20 slides. Following the directive, secretaries have begun work on the materials, increasing the workload and demand for digital content preparation within the Secretariat.
