The Union government has designated 23 Pakistan-based individuals as “terrorists” under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), citing their alleged links to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification on Friday announcing the move. According to the ministry, the individuals are associated with activities such as terrorist recruitment, infiltration, training, and the supply of weapons using drones.
The notification also alleges that the group was involved in planning attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The ministry said three of the listed individuals are close associates of LeT founder Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.
It further stated that three of the 23 were involved in the 2016 terror attack on the Army camp in Nagrota, while two were linked to the 2018 attack on the Sunjuwan Army camp.
