MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Thursday alleged that the DMK is the “biggest corrupt force” in Tamil Nadu, while asserting that Chief Minister Vijay is running an honest, corruption-free administration.
Speaking to reporters in Puducherry, Vaiko said the Union Territory’s distinct identity must be protected and reiterated his long-standing demand that Puducherry be granted statehood. He also referred to Puducherry’s historical and cultural legacy, and noted that France continues to maintain ties with the region.
Commenting on the arrest of Anitha Radhakrishnan for criticising Chief Minister Vijay, Vaiko said it reflected the idea that “one reaps what one sows.” He added that criticism of a former party after switching sides is common across political parties.
Vaiko said that after the MDMK exited the DMK alliance, MP Durai Vaiko’s remarks were an expression of the relief felt among party workers. He also said he had praised good initiatives while in the alliance and had endured humiliation when it occurred.
He further stated that Vijay maintains an anti-BJP stance, and reiterated his view that the Chief Minister is providing a clean and honest administration in Tamil Nadu.
