Tehran: Mojtaba Khamenei, named Iran’s new ruler after the death of the country’s leader and cleric Khamenei, has not taken part in his father’s funeral rites, according to reports.
The report said Khamenei was killed in an attack by US and Israeli forces. After his death, Mojtaba was appointed to lead Iran, but only statements issued in his name were seen, and he did not appear in public.
Due to continued US attacks, the funeral had not been held earlier. With a peace agreement now in place, the funeral ceremonies are currently underway, and leaders from several countries have attended.
However, even on the second day of funeral prayers, Mojtaba did not participate. Visuals circulating from the event showed only his brothers — Mostafa, Meysam and Masoud — taking part.
