Chennai: DMK president M.K. Stalin has said it is essential for the party to build a “new path”, in a letter addressed to party workers.
In the message, Stalin said the DMK has seen both victories and defeats, but has neither been carried away by success nor broken by setbacks. He compared the party’s ability to rebound to a phoenix rising again.
He argued that while some movements struggle to withstand even a single defeat, the DMK—bound by ideology—stands rooted like a family. He said it is his duty as the “head worker” to absorb cadres’ feelings and decide the direction for the coming decades.
To gather feedback, Stalin said he formed 19 teams comprising 38 members to travel constituency-wise and understand workers’ views, and also launched a website titled “Udanpirappin Kural”. Based on cadres’ inputs, he said a restructuring advisory panel combining youth and experience has been set up to rebuild the party.
Stalin also claimed that even leaders from other parties acknowledge that no other party in India matches the DMK’s organisational strength.
