A report has claimed that AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami is considering moving alleged corruption-related documents concerning former AIADMK ministers to Delhi.

After the Assembly election, six AIADMK MLAs, including former ministers C Vijayabaskar and M R Vijayabaskar, resigned their seats and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). The report also says more former ministers are shifting towards TVK, while some leaders who remain in the AIADMK are said to be working against Palaniswami.

According to the report, Palaniswami and his close aides are upset with these “former” leaders and are looking at ways to keep them in check. It alleges that Palaniswami had collected documents on irregularities in departments handled by these ministers during the AIADMK regime, and that files earlier gathered during Jayalalithaa’s tenure later came into his possession.

The report further claims the files include details such as benami information and evidence of assets worth thousands of crores, including material related to C Vijayabaskar. It adds that Palaniswami is weighing sending these documents to BJP leaders in Delhi and exploring the filing of corruption cases through certain social activists, though some within his circle are said to be cautioning that such moves could damage the AIADMK’s image.
