A 116-year-old woman from Karnataka climbed the Tirumala hill on foot and had darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala Tirupati.
The elderly devotee, identified as Navaneethamma, walked with her family along the Alipiri footpath. The route is about 9 km long and includes 3,550 steps.
Videos showing her steadily climbing the entire stretch spread quickly on social media, drawing widespread attention.
After learning about it, the temple administration arranged for her to have darshan through the VIP special “Divya Darshan” on Monday morning.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also praised her in a social media post, saying true devotion is not limited by age and expressing amazement at her walk to Tirumala for the divine darshan.
