Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on allegations of amassing assets far beyond known sources of income.
The officer, identified as Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, is posted with the Police Computer Services wing in Hyderabad. The ACB said it acted on information that he had accumulated disproportionate assets during his service.
Following the tip-off, ACB teams conducted searches at 15 locations linked to him, including suspected benami premises and his office, across Telangana and Karnataka. The raids reportedly uncovered multiple properties, including a luxury residence in Ibrahim Bagh, homes and a flat in Telecom Nagar, an apartment in Gachibowli, and a commercial complex site in Manikonda.
Investigators also reported finding two residences in Tellapur, large tracts of agricultural land, and investment documents. The total value of the assets was estimated at around Rs 300 crore.
During the searches, officials seized Rs 3.60 lakh in cash from his house and Rs 40 lakh from a benami house, along with gold jewellery and several property papers. The DSP was produced before a court after his arrest, the ACB said.
