Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with Hitachi for expansion projects involving an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, according to an official statement.
The MoU covers the expansion plan of Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited at Porur and a manufacturing expansion plan of Hitachi Energy India at Chengalpattu.
The projects are expected to generate employment for 1,000 high-end technology professionals, the statement said.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay at the Chennai Secretariat. Industries Minister Keerthana, Chief Secretary Saikumar, Hitachi India Managing Director Venu Nuguri, Chief Growth Officer Karthik Krishnamoorthy and senior officials were present.
