Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Indonesia’s renowned Hindu temple complex, Prambanan, describing the visit as a deeply fortunate and joyful experience.
Speaking to reporters after the worship, Modi said he often feels blessed to get opportunities to connect with Lord Shiva. He recalled his roots in Vadnagar, Gujarat, and referred to the Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple as an important sacred site.
He also mentioned the Somnath temple in Gujarat—described as the first among the twelve Jyotirlingas—and said the blessings of Kashi Vishwanath are always with him.
Modi said that during his three days in the country, he could sense a “cultural fragrance” in people’s lifestyle, conversations and surroundings—similar to what is felt in India. He added that this shared heritage connects the two nations and thanked Indonesians for safeguarding it.
