Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay sought detailed clarifications from officials on their departments’ annual action plans during a series of department-wise review meetings.
With the Tamil Nadu Budget set to be presented soon, departments are preparing their grant demands and are expected to propose new announcements. Against this backdrop, the Chief Minister has been holding review sessions with individual departments.
On Tuesday, a review meeting was held in the morning for the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, followed by an afternoon session covering the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department. Ministers, secretaries and senior officials attended.
During the discussions, departmental secretaries briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing schemes and possible initiatives that could be announced in the Budget. The Chief Minister asked officials to frame and implement one-year, three-year and five-year action plans, and sought responses on what could be completed within a year.
The meeting also included deliberations on measures related to the prevention of honour killings.
