A video showing a First AC private cabin on the Nandigram Express decorated like a “honeymoon suite” has gone viral, prompting action from Indian Railways.

According to reports, the cabin—on a train that departed from Jalna station in Maharashtra—was adorned with white and red balloons, rose petals arranged in heart shapes on seats, flowers scattered on the berths, and an “I love you” message.

The decoration was reportedly arranged by a newlywed couple to make their journey memorable. However, some social media users raised safety concerns, pointing out that balloons and paper items could pose a fire risk inside a train coach.

In a statement, Railways said the couple had used a private decoration firm to set up the arrangement in the First AC cabin they had booked. The firm’s employee allegedly entered the coach without proper permission.

Railways said the ticket inspector who was on duty at the time has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered. A case has also been registered against the decoration firm’s employee for unauthorised entry and travelling without a ticket, with further action to follow based on the inquiry findings.
