AIADMK Youth Wing office-bearers on Thursday voiced strong dissatisfaction, alleging that those who work sincerely for the party are not being given due recognition.

A consultative meeting of the Youth Wing’s state and district functionaries was held at the party headquarters in Chennai. The meeting was chaired by Youth Wing state secretary and former MP Vijayakumar.

District secretaries said the Youth Wing’s functioning has weakened and that many functionaries openly shared their grievances. They claimed that people who obtain posts and later move to other parties are being favoured, while loyal workers are overlooked.

They also alleged that the Youth Wing was not given importance during the Assembly election, including in booth committees, and said this sidelining contributed to the party’s electoral defeat. Vijayakumar, they said, assured them he would convey the concerns to the party leadership and asked them to focus on enrolling more youth into the party.
