Perambalur District Collector Sharanya Ari has enrolled her two-year-old son, Adhvik, in a government anganwadi centre at Vilamuthur near Perambalur. The move has attracted attention after the information spread on social media, with many members of the public praising her decision.
Speaking about the initiative, the Collector said people should better understand the value of government anganwadi centres, which offer play-based early learning, nutritious food and a safe environment for children.
She noted that children at the centre are trained using a dedicated 11-month curriculum aimed at improving cognitive skills. To track a child’s development, details are recorded in a monitoring card once every three months.
Urging parents to make use of these services, she appealed to the public to come forward and enrol their children in government anganwadi centres.
