The Madras High Court has issued notices in multiple election petition cases challenging the validity of Assembly election results, directing the concerned winners to submit their responses within three weeks.
In one of the key matters, a petitioner named Milani has moved the court seeking to declare invalid the victory of DMK candidate Udhayanidhi Stalin from the Chepauk–Thiruvallikeni constituency. Similar petitions have also been filed against the wins of Thalavai Sundaram (AIADMK, Kanniyakumari), Vijay Thamu (TVK, Royapuram), A. Chandran (DMK, Kulithalai) and V. Muthuraja (DMK, Pudukkottai).
Justice G. Arul Murugan heard these five petitions and ordered Udhayanidhi Stalin, Thalavai Sundaram, Vijay Thamu and others to file their replies within three weeks, adjourning the cases thereafter.
