Anti-corruption police seized Rs 6.14 lakh allegedly collected as bribes from farmers during a raid in Thanjavur district.
Officials acted after complaints that bribes were being demanded at the Orathanadu Agriculture Extension Centre while accepting applications under the Kuruvai package scheme.
Based on the allegations, the vigilance team conducted searches through the night at the centre.
During the operation, the cash amounting to Rs 6.14 lakh was found and seized. Further inquiry is under way, officials said.
