A boating trip near Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island turned tragic after a tourist boat capsized in nearby waters, leaving 15 Indian tourists dead, according to reports.
Officials said 32 tourists were travelling together on the boat when it overturned unexpectedly. Among those killed was Murugaprabhu (44) from Palani.
The Indian Embassy in Vietnam said it is in touch with local authorities and is closely monitoring the situation as search and rescue operations continue.
In a post on X, the Embassy said control rooms have been set up at the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and at the Embassy in Hanoi to provide information and assistance, while details of the incident are being verified.
