Chennai: A warning issued by Chief Minister Vijay that those who committed corruption during the DMK’s tenure would be “caught one after another” has reportedly triggered unease among several DMK former ministers.

Speaking at a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) meeting in Karur, Vijay said the coming days would show the “full form” of the TVK government. He also took aim at former minister Senthil Balaji, referring to him as a “Karur company owner” and alleging that he has been on the run.

Without naming him directly, Vijay also claimed that another former minister, E.V. Velu, was “hiding in Singapore,” according to the report.

The report noted that cases have already been registered against Senthil Balaji and Velu, and they have been summoned for inquiry. It also said the vigilance and anti-corruption wing has conducted searches at their residences.

With multiple former ministers facing legal trouble—including former minister Anita Radhakrishnan, who was arrested in a case related to allegedly derogatory remarks about the Chief Minister and later released on bail—DMK leaders are said to fear fresh cases, raids and arrests. A DMK functionary was quoted as saying some former ministers maintain ties with TVK district secretaries to gauge developments, but Vijay’s Karur speech has heightened their anxiety.
