Two construction workers from Pudupatti near Natham in Dindigul district have been widely praised for handing over gold jewellery they found on a road to the police.

Sathya (45) and Sasikala (44) were travelling to Samuthirapatti for construction work when they noticed an unattended purse on the roadside near the Samuthirapatti lake bund. On checking it, they found about 5.25 sovereign of gold jewellery inside.

Police called the couple, verified the necessary documents and returned the jewellery. Natham Inspector Sivarama Krishnan, SI Abinesh and other personnel, along with the couple who received the jewellery, appreciated Sathya and Sasikala for their honesty.
