A conference organised by Annamalai’s “We The Leaders” in Pollachi adopted six resolutions aimed at tackling drug addiction and related illegal trade.

The resolutions included observing every July as “White Band Month”, with individuals taking a pledge not to use drugs. The meet also called for removing TASMAC outlets operating near schools and temples.

The conference urged authorities to stop black-market drug sales and to form district-level anti-drug prevention committees across Tamil Nadu. It further demanded that no licences be issued for new “manamagizh” club bars.

Another key resolution sought to make Tamil Nadu a national model state in drug eradication efforts. Following the adoption of the resolutions, participants took a pledge against drug use.

Later, Annamalai released a mobile phone application for the We The Leaders organisation. The event was live-streamed on Dinamalar’s website and social media platforms.
