AIADMK minister K.A. Sengottaiyan on Saturday said that those who speak of changing the party’s policies would not be forgiven by former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s soul. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Erode.

Commenting on political trends, Sengottaiyan said voters who supported the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam were largely youth, women and college students. He added that the youth attending BJP leader K. Annamalai’s ‘We the Leaders’ organisation’s first conference were a different group.

On the Karur tragedy, he said jobs had been provided on compassionate grounds to the families of those who died. He questioned why similar queries were not raised when jobs were provided to families of those killed in the Thoothukudi firing.

Responding to AMMK general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran’s remarks on a possible DMK-AIADMK alliance, Sengottaiyan said the two parties were “two poles” and asked whether Dhinakaran was unaware of that. He reiterated that altering AIADMK’s policies was unacceptable.

On the National Education Policy, he said the School Education Minister had already clearly stated Tamil Nadu’s position on not implementing it in the state.
