Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated again, despite a recently signed peace agreement between the two sides. Reports said both countries have continued to carry out attacks, keeping the situation volatile.

US President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire would be brought to an end, saying there was no benefit in holding peace talks with Iran, even as he indicated that negotiations would continue.

For the past three days, the two sides have reportedly been exchanging strikes. The US has carried out missile attacks on Iran, while Iran has retaliated by targeting US military bases in West Asian countries.

Amid this, the US Central Command said American forces began strikes on Iran within minutes of an announcement related to closing the Strait of Hormuz.

Crude oil prices rose on July 13 as the conflict intensified. Brent crude climbed 3.51% to $78.68 a barrel, while US WTI gained 3.47% to $73.89, raising concerns that prices could rise further if tensions persist.
