DMK organising secretary R.S. Bharathi on Monday submitted a fresh complaint to the Governor at Raj Bhavan’s Lok Bhavan in Guindy, reiterating allegations that the TVK government was involved in “horse-trading”. This is the second time the party has approached the Governor on the issue.

Speaking to reporters, Bharathi said the DMK had earlier met the Governor on July 4, citing a statement by MDMK general secretary Vaiko as the basis for its allegations that Chief Minister Vijay was involved in horse-trading.

He also referred to former AIADMK minister M.R. Vijayabaskar, who reportedly told journalists that he had been asked to join TVK and later resigned as an MLA before joining the party. Bharathi said these developments amounted to supporting material for the DMK’s complaint.

Bharathi further said the DMK had filed complaints regarding Chief Minister Vijay’s speech in Karur with a probe panel headed by a retired Supreme Court judge looking into the Karur death incident, and also with the CBI.

He accused the Chief Minister of staging a “drama” around the release of a government order related to HR&CE land in Karur, claiming the order had been issued a day earlier than presented. Bharathi said the DMK would pursue the matter and approach the courts if the Governor does not act on the horse-trading complaint.
