Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on Tuesday launched the ‘Nalam TN’ online service aimed at delivering government healthcare services through a digital platform. The launch was held at Chennai State College, where the Chief Minister also unveiled the project’s logo.
As part of the event, Vijay inaugurated 86 healthcare buildings built at a cost of Rs 139.47 crore, along with modern medical equipment, through video conferencing.
The programme also saw private companies, hospitals and organisations extending financial support to the Nalam TN initiative.
Later, the Chief Minister distributed appointment orders to 2,000 candidates selected through the Medical Services Recruitment Board for the Health Department. The appointees include 751 Assistant Medical Officers and 1,393 Health Inspectors.
In a notable moment, Vijay stepped down from the stage to personally hand over an appointment order to a doctor selected under the differently-abled category. The event was livestreamed on Dinamalar’s website and social media pages.
