A special court in Jammu has issued a non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed, the chief of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in connection with the Pahalgam terror attack case.

The attack took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, when Pakistan-based terrorists carried out an assault that left 26 people dead. The Resistance Front, described as a proxy of LeT, had claimed responsibility for the incident.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the case, had filed a 1,597-page charge sheet in a special court in Jammu in December last year. The agency has now submitted an additional charge sheet in the same court, naming Saeed as an accused.

According to the filing, Saeed has been booked under multiple provisions, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). When the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, the court ordered the non-bailable warrant against him.

Saeed has been designated an international terrorist by India and the United States, and is described as having played a key role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
