Tamil Nadu’s Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has reiterated that citizens can report government staff who demand bribes, and has published official contact channels for complaints.
The announcement comes amid a renewed public call by Chief Minister Vijay, who urged people to name him while exposing bribe demands. The message also notes that despite warnings, some individuals in government departments continue to seek illegal payments.
For complaints, the DVAC has asked the public to use WhatsApp number 94981 80936 or email [email protected]. Complaints can also be made through the DVAC’s Chennai headquarters control room lines: 044-22321090, 044-22321085, 044-22310989 and 044-22342142.
The DVAC has also listed district and regional office contacts across Tamil Nadu, including units in Chennai and special intelligence wings, as well as northern, central, western and southern divisions, to help citizens reach the nearest office.
Officials have urged people not to hesitate in reporting bribe demands and to use the official channels to bring offenders before the law.
