Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Ravindran, a chief engineer with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), on allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Officials said the ACB acted on specific information and conducted searches at locations linked to the engineer, including premises associated with relatives and alleged benamis. During the raids, documents related to movable and immovable properties were seized.

While the seized records mention the assets at Rs 9.24 crore, officials said the current market value could be around Rs 100 crore. The properties include flats at five locations, four apartment units, agricultural land, a 3,000 sq ft villa and a commercial complex in his name.

The ACB also seized cash of Rs 3.82 lakh, bank deposits of Rs 45 lakh, 1.44 kg of gold jewellery valued at Rs 36.7 lakh, 12.5 kg of silver articles worth Rs 10 lakh, household items worth Rs 17.24 lakh, electronic goods worth Rs 9.32 lakh, and four luxury cars valued at Rs 1.16 crore. Officials said further inquiries are under way to determine whether additional assets are held elsewhere.

Ravindran was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody, after which he was sent to prison, the ACB said.
