Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has appointed retired IAS officer Panindra Reddy to lead an interim committee to oversee the powers and responsibilities of the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).
The move follows the collective resignation of the authority’s chairman, retired IAS officer Shiv Das Meena, along with its members. After their exit, the state government temporarily dissolved the authority.
As per a government order, a three-member interim committee has been constituted with Panindra Reddy as chair. Retired district judge Naseer Ahmed and retired IAS officer Reeta Harish Thakkar have been appointed as members.
The committee will function for the next six months or until the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority is reconstituted, the government said.
