Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the cancellation of 50 short-term tenders floated under the Municipal Administration Department, officials said.
The department said the move was taken after the tenders were found to have not followed the prescribed procedures and rules.
As part of the order, 35 tenders in three municipalities have been cancelled — 30 in Udumalpet, three in Kotagiri and two in Chengam.
The cancellations have triggered concern among contractors, as the decision was taken abruptly, according to sources.
