Minister Nirmal Kumar on Thursday said Chief Minister Vijay’s primary objective is to build a “Green Government” and that the administration is working toward that direction. He made the remarks in Madurai’s Avaniyapuram while attending the Solanguruni temple festival.
Referring to the 800-year-old Bothirajan Valiyamman temple in Solanguruni, the minister said villagers had struggled for 21 years to conduct the festival due to the lack of an access route. He recalled that he had promised during the election campaign to clear encroachments if elected.
He said the encroachments on the pathway to the temple have now been removed, enabling the festival to be held, which he described as a matter of happiness.
Nirmal Kumar also said the government is a people’s government and that CM Vijay, elected by the people, would ensure that necessary public needs are addressed. He added that the administration would not undertake any action that could harm the public.
Citing Vijay’s guidance to party workers, the minister said the chief minister has repeatedly stressed that the people are the masters and that there should be no corruption or misconduct, and nothing should be done against the public interest.
