Chennai: Annamalai, leader of the We The Leader organisation, extended congratulations to those who, he said, enhanced the pride of Tamil cinema by winning honours at the 72nd National Film Awards announced on Friday.
In a statement, he congratulated the team of Rayan, which was selected as the Best Tamil Film, and the team of Captain Miller, which received a Special Award under the Social and National Welfare category.
He also conveyed his wishes to Dhanush, who received a Special Award, and to Rajkumar, who won the Best Director award in the Tamil language category for Amaran. He further congratulated G.V. Prakash Kumar for Best Background Score and Kalaivanan for Best Editing.
Annamalai also mentioned Anl Arasu, who won Best Stunt Choreographer for Maharaja, and Sachana Namidas, who won Best Supporting Actress. He congratulated Surenji for Best Sound Mixing for Meiyazhagan, and D.S. Harihara Sudhan, who won the National Award for Best Sound Design for Blue.
He said he was offering heartfelt appreciation and warm wishes to all the awardees for bringing pride to the Tamil film industry.
